In this hour-long session, we will focus on how you can help your child love reading, from birth, all the way to when they’ve become confident, independent readers.

We’ll cover 3 main areas:

• Tips and strategies on integrating reading into your child’s everyday life, keeping them motivated to learn to read, even when it’s hard.
• Support to raise the value of reading at home, so your little one recognises reading as important, and understands the ‘why’ of learning to read.
• And guidance on creating an environment that supports reading and learning, building your child’s enthusiasm and imagination, and helping them to engage with stories and books, for the rest of their life!
• Bonus: We’ll discuss how to balance your child’s screen time with reading and tips to keep your child reading, even when they’re focused on a screen.

We’ll also talk briefly about ways you can encourage reading, even when you don’t have time to read with your child yourself, and the topic of screen time and how you can make sure your child is reading even when they’re watching a screen!
