For many parents, the Phonics Screen Check can feel nerve wracking. It’s the first formal assessment your child has done, and you’ve likely got a letter from the school telling you that your child will be doing it in June, with little-to-no other information.
You know how important reading is to your child’s education. You want to help them make progress and show off what they know.
You want to know how to support your child at home in a way that builds their confidence as well as their skills.
That’s exactly what I’ll share with you in this masterclass.
Learning to read should be fun, it should be exciting. And the Phonics Screen Check should be something our kids breeze through, feeling confident and happy with their reading progress.
In this masterclass, I’ll not only show you exactly what is in the Phonics Screen Check (and how our kids experience it), but I’ll also give you a bank of ideas that you can use at home to help your child feel confident when they’re faced with the paper, and activities that will boost their reading so each page is easy.
Join this free masterclass to learn exactly how you can support your child on the lead up to the Phonics Screen Check.

When a child learns to read, the whole world opens up to them. Not only do they have the ability to do necessary things, like read street names and bus timetables, but they can also explore any topic that interests them, learning so much more than they otherwise would. Reading gives children independence, and every child deserves to become a confident reader.
I’m Jen, a Primary School teacher, Phonics and Early Reading specialist, dyslexia tutor and parent support coach. I’ve helped over 300 parents to support their children with reading, from Nursery to Year 2.
In this masterclass, I share activities and strategies that I use in my own (Year 1) classroom each year to help kids prepare for the Phonics Screen Check, boost their reading skills and ensure they’re feeling confident, every step of the way.
I truly believe that every child deserves to be a confident reader and I want to help that become true. It would be lovely to work with you too!
